Collection: Jordan River
In 1953, Muthieb M. Haddad was a true wine visionary, far ahead of his time. He brought the art and science of winemaking to his homeland of Jordan. Three generations later, the journey he began continues.
Already in 2002 and for the first time in Jordan's history, the best Italian varieties,
Spanish and French were planted on a large scale. The rich Jordanian soil gave
origin of unique flavors of single-variety wines such as Cabernet Sauvignon and Chardonnay.
As a brand, Jordan River Wines was formally created and introduced to the world in 2004, introducing “The Haddad Estates” as Jordan’s specialist producer.
Situated in a remarkable landscape, at an altitude of 840 meters where an extinct volcano, at some point in antiquity, spilled fields of basaltic lava onto the Mountain Heights plateau, an area that is one of the most fertile regions of Jordan.
Terroir hibernating under volcanic basalt for thousands of years. The soil is ideal and rich in minerals. It also brings the wine lover a sense of terroir that includes the unique soil composition and climate.
Jordan's climate, with over 330 days of sunshine per year, along with dry summers and constant breezes, is perfect for grapes and vines. Large temperature variations between day and night allow the vines to "sleep", which enhances the characteristics of the grape varieties.
