Collection: IXSIR

The name IXSIR derives from 'Iksir', the original Arabic word for 'Elixir', a word common to many languages that defines the purest form of all substances - a secret potion that grants eternal youth and love.

This producer is located in the Batroun mountains, in northern Lebanon, in a village called Basbina, situated 400 meters above sea level.

The vision behind IXSIR is to reveal Lebanon's finest terroirs, some long
forgotten. Cultivated with respect for sustainable agriculture, IXSIR vineyards
are spread across the mountains of Lebanon on clay and limestone soils, from Batroun to Jezzine, benefiting from Lebanon's unique and exclusive microclimate.

IXSIR’s vineyards not only focus on sustainable agriculture, but also have a direct impact on over 250 farming families, helping them to remain on their land. IXSIR’s policy ensures that long-term contracts are concluded with winegrowers, including above-market remuneration, along with rigorous technical advice and quality control. This Fair Trade approach is used to create a safer environment where the production of illicit crops has been replaced by sustainable agriculture.

Minimizing the environmental impact of its activity, in addition to the numerous "green" certificates received, IXSIR consumes 75% less energy than any other winery in the world, using a deep construction and facilities and allowing the wine to be made using the gravity fermentation method.
