Collection: Château Ksara

In 1857, right in the heart of the Bekaa Valley and just a few kilometers from the Temple of Bacchus, a congregation of Jesuit priests purchased the "Ksara Farm", a property so named because of the previous existence of a "Ksar", a castle/fortress from the time of the Crusaders.

There they developed their first dry wine, making Chateau Ksara the oldest producer in Lebanon. Maintaining its legacy to this day, it has continued to develop and is currently the largest producer in the country.

Its vineyards are located in the Bekaa Valley at an average altitude of 1000 meters.
This region has a semi-continental climate, where winters are cold with moderate rainfall and summers are hot and dry. This relatively high average altitude means a temperature range of around 15ºC during the summer, varying between hot days and cool nights.

This special location is also blessed with abundant and constant irrigation, situated between two snow-capped mountain ranges.

There are around 10 vineyards in different locations throughout the Bekaa Valley, with soil varying between clay and limestone, always stony, facilitating the appearance of natural water tables.
